yeah - i'm about to give up on this project (take it to a real mechanic)...
I posted a few days ago about my 262c w/ 240 engine...
it appears, from the volume and pressure coming out of the fuel filter that the car isn't getting enough gas... it won't even fire now, and I'm tempted to drive it off a cliff...
I've replaced:
in-tank pump,
main fuel pump,
accumulator,
fuel filter,
injectors,
fuses,
spark,
wires,
cap,
and rotors....
the story behind this one is that it sat a a mechanic's shop for about a month (while it confused the hell out of him) in that time, it managed to collect rust in the gas tank... the rust was sucked through the in-tank pump (which he had left the filter sock off of) and into the main pump. Eventually I replaced the main pump. Figuring that some rust might be in the accumulator - I replaced that too. Still, no dice. So I plumb the fuel line from the accumulator to the filter, and replace the filter... still nothing...
does the fuel system have to be closed (for pressure) for the accumulator to work properly?
I've tested the accumulator (bently manuel) - it passed...
I'm officially stumpedd - any ideas??? thanks
