Folks Don't Try This At Home - This is meant for extremely stupids 900 1991

Hi,

Just wanted to share my gullability with other bricksters and hope that someone who wants a bit of adventure or profit from insurance claim might want to emulate it.

Just got my 1991 940GLE (yeh the B234F engine) serviced last weekend. I bought the sunaco lub. 4 litre and an engine flush from the sparepart shop and went to my mechanic place but this guy thanks to the financial contribution from all the poor volvo owners here, went on a tour to europe for two weeks. Wow!. I wish I could do that. My wife who was with me gave me a stare - you moron, see how others profiting from your old junk.

But never mind since all the junior foremen (two of them) were busy doing their work which was next to nothing (considering there was only two volvos parked in the garage waiting for the mechanic to return from his tour- one needed trans. overhauled and the other needed engine replacement) and being a good samaritan, I decided to help myself - wrong move.

Opended the hood and remove the engine oil cover poured the engine flush into the engine. But in the process spilled some into the exhaust manifold. I was standing next to the right fender to have easy excess. If you have guessed what happened next, you were right. There was a stick cloud of white smoke from the engine. (Considering that I have just driven this babe there). And the next thing I new there was a huge flame (fire) from the area where I have spilled the engine flush. Wife was screaming for help shouting fire..fire ... fire and I was frantically searching for fire extinguisher but no where to be found.

After about 5 second (which for me felt like hours) a junior foreman ran from nowhere and just stood in front of the car and stared at it. And there I was frantically asking for water. This little moron just stood there and watched my car up in the flame. Then as if a thunder bolt had hit his head, he grabed his head and run for water. And me well I was too excited with the whole event and was contemplating on how am I going to put in a convinciable insurance claim should I need to make a claim.

This little moron (the same one stood there watching my car in flame) came back with a pail of water and pour it over the engine and another foreman came with a smaller pail and extinguished the flame. Then as if to rub slat over the the wound of my ego, they just loughed at each other as if I have just cracked a joke to enlightened otherwise a boring afternoon.

To make matter worse, my wife gave me a look - "you bloody idiot", or something like...."why did I marry you moron"- Then just grinned as if she had found the reason. Looking back at the incident it was something....... funny :).

So boys and girls, don't spill engine flush on a hot engine unless of course you have other plans for your volvo.
