Advise pleas, trans fluid leak 4spd/OD 200 1982

I noticed a leak at the rear of my 4 sp/OD tranny an the week end. No obvious fluid loss on the clean driveway but it is evident by the fluid sprayed over the adjacent area. Thr driveshaft is flinging the fluid everywhere but I can't determine the source. My guess is the rear seal on the O/D but it could be anywhere. Why no drips on the ground? (the tranny fluid was barely down when checked)
Is there a continuity of fluid between the O/D and the manual trans or do they have separate resevoirs of fluid?
