lost frt timing belt 200 1982

The front timing belt let go on my 240 diesel. I am told this usually results in bent or broken valves and possibly a broken cam shaft, and other damage. Since I want to keep the car does anyone offer rebuilt engines, or should I plan on rebuilding myself? Thanks Jim
