Stupid freakin' contractors = new front end ARGH

Yesterday I was making my daily journey out to the Alpena ANG base, where I work. I got onto the base and headed towards the building I work at, approximately 400 miles away from the front gate. I made it to the final stretch and came up to a section of road that had been cut out for about 3 months now. It was nothing new to me and I regularly went over it at about 20 mph (speed limit is 25mph which I now STRICTLY adhere to ever since I got pulled over >:( ). This day, however, the contractors figured it would be a funny prank to take out all of the gravel from the freakin' huge gap. By the time I noticed the canyon was gravel-less, it was too late. I nailed the brakes but only slowed down to about 15mph. The front tires smacked into the 9-12 inch cliff and I get a fairly good wake up jolt. Already I could tell that did some serious damage. I was almost positive I blew a tire. My car, a 1988 760 Turbo, was steering like crap. It was easy to turn for about 1/4 of a turn, hard for maybe a 1/2 turn, etc etc. So anyways I park my car and hop out and look at the underside of the car. Nothing looks terribly out of place, tires are fine. The only thing I see wrong is a torn swaybar bushing. I'm like hmm that's weird and head into work. I turn around and look at the car and to my horror...the front tires are NOTICEABLY bent in towards the car. ARGH. So I get inside and call my dad and he tells me to bring it to his building. He drives it around for a minute and he's like man this IS messed up. My dad, being the smart guy he is, suggests we have it towed since the car just got new tires and he paid for 'em hehe. At this point we're thinkin it's nothing major, something slipped loose maybe. The tow truck guy comes and picks up the car, rather roughly I might add. We all make it to the wheel people and the wheel..guy..gets in and drives the car onto the lift. I can see the front wheels wobble. It was a sad moment...but it gets worse. They lift it up and we get a look at what happened. Turns out that the 'pothole' was deep enough to catch the front crossmember. It's been pushed back approximately 3 inches, right into the oil pan. The steering rack seriously leaks now. So now I need a new crossmember, oil pan, steering rack, engine mounts, and a belly pan, all cuz some stupid contractor jerk didn't think to put up a sign or close off the road or something. Morons. Anyways, there is a point to this..what else should I have checked? What else could have been damaged by the crossmember being forced back? I'm already having them check to see if the wheels are bent, anything else?? Oh yeah one last thing, the base/contractor is paying for the damage. TIA
