My 240 Sedan, suddenly smells strongly of gas fumes inside and in trunk? 200 1991

My 240 Sedan, suddenly smells strongly of gas fumes inside and in trunk. It doesn't smell under the car or at the engine. In fact I can only smell it in the car and it is quite strong. I have to drive with all of my windows down and I can still smell it. I have inspected under the car and could not find any leaks. Any sugestions welcome.
