Leaking downpipe on 91 780 700 1991

Ok boys and girls there is a leak in my exhaust system where the downpipe bolts up to the turbine housing. I tried tightening up the bolts since they were a little loose, but that only helped it a little bit. Dealer says that since the surface between the downpipe flange and turbine housing is machine fit it should have no problems sealing due to the high temperatures. Anybody have ideas, hints, tricks ot fix this. I'm driving the car 1500 miles this weekend so I need to get this done soon.
