leaky tranny needs a reseal - and I need advice 200 1985

I was hoping it was the selector shaft seal but it's the front K seal and the thing is leaking bad. So, I'm getting quotes in the $6-800 range (or lower from non-Volvo shops) for a total reseal. Any advice here? Should I be able to find this done for cheaper? Any recommendations in and around Seattle? Thanks.
