940 2.3 turbo...is this right... 900

my 91 2.3 turbo doesnt behave like i think it should....but i could be wrong interested in ppl's thoughts.

the turbo cars i have had before had a really noticable lag...them bam....shove in the back and missile like...

this one...seems to excellerate smoothly then just sort of do it more so...
I think its got the smaller diameter turbo in it (not sure) which i gather has less lag...so i guess could be what im describing...

any thoughts out there...and yes my gauge seems to work and no obvious holes...btw should the turbo really sound like a police siren spooling up...could cause the need for a clean pair of boxers one day....
