I just purchased an 1989 244 with an M45. It is totaled and has 149,000 miles. I was able to drive it home after "aligning" the front end in the parking lot by screwing in both tie rod ends almost to the max. It is hit on the front driver's side with some A pillar damage.
The transmission is hard to shift into 1st and 2nd no matter what you do- moving or sitting still; engine running or not. All the other shifts are quite easy. Is this typical of the M45 with that kind of mileage or might it be due to some stress problems applied by the collision? Thanks.
