Are ball joints simple/easy enough to start working on suspension? 900 1998

Before I "attack" front conrol arm bushings on S90, I want to do an easy project on the front suspension which can help me to raise my confidence. How about replacing ball joints? Is it easy enough for a person who never worked on suspension? (It appears like an easy job after reading through FAQ.) Are there any pitfalls? Thanks,
