How does one chage the cooling setting on their A/C system?

From my understanding Volvo has a general temp setting of 58 F? If so, might there be a way to alter it to cooler temps without any negative affects to the system? And does this temp of 58 F apply just to retrofits? One other thing will the Interdynamics "MAX COOL" booster tune-up (SMALL CAN) refrigerant enhance the system to produce cooler temps? I am just trying to stay cooler!

Thanks in Advance
