Bad idea to drive around w/amm disconnected? 200

My bloody air mass meter went 'kaput' again. Disconnected it and the car runs just fine (symptom was an abrupt and almost total loss of power). Would I be doing any damage to the emissions system or the engine if I drove around with the thing disconnected for a week or so?
