Tire size options for 1989 240 Station Wagon 200

I'm sure I'm not the first person to ask this question BUT, original tire size for the 240 wagon is plain and simple 185-R-14. I've hit a few websites that have great deals on tires, but this designation is always sold out. And when I go to local tire stors these are always special order, and in turn an excuse to jack the price. What is the aspect ratio for these tires? Or out of curiosity, why did Volvo make a tire designation with no aspect ratio???? Anyone have a favorite replacement size for the '89 240 Wagon?
