245 Vibrations 200 1992

Elusive vibration problem in my 1992 245, only 125K mint condition. Steering wheel vibrates straight up/down when briskly accelerating from a stop but only for a moment. Then at expressway speeds it returns but will fade in and out even at constant speeds. Sometimes it is severe and the whole car vibrates but the auto trans shifter does not(does this rule out drive train?). Other times miles of driving at the same speed are smooth. Hills, curves, flats, swerving, shifting into nuetral all have no effect. Slowing 10MPH or so will quiet it down and I sometimes can accerate to previous speed will smooth it out. Tried different and rebalancing the tires, different rims, new Bilstein struts, replaced front lower control arm rear bushings, retorqued all front end bolts without any changes. The front lower control arm front bushings looked good to my mechanic and is the only thing not replaced. Ball joints are tight. Suspension upgrades incude IPD's anti sway bars with new end links and upper strut to firewall braces which I do not believe are related to the problem. Also have new engine and trans mount. ANY IDEAS??? THANKS!!
