Dear Volvo guys,
Before I begin, this has to do with being rear ended, and I'm
hearing a
clunking noise from my Volvo. If this is the wrong place to send an

I've been to your sight a long time ago to look at for Volvo upgrades
for
grins and giggles. A few weeks ago though I got rear-ended by a new
Toyota
van. My Volvo is an '83 245 glt Volvo station wagon. My dad bought the
car
a year before I was born, it was the first car I ever drove in ( back
from
the hospital ) and I we were doing 125mph on the auto bon! ( my dad was
in
the air force...I was born in Holland )
He's done some small things to it... He put a little bigger turbo from
a
Saab and an intercooler on it. It's a 5 speed and a ball to drive.
It's not
much to look at, but it was fun to beat all of these little Honda's in
an 83
station wagon!
About the accident, the van's front end was gone, and form all we could
tell
there was a little dent in the rear bumped of the Volvo. The nest day,
when
we got a chance to look at it in the day, we noticed the rear doors were

rubbing when you shut them, and there were little ripples down the rear
sides
of the car. We know a guy who owns a body shop, so we had him "stretch"
the
car back out. But ever since getting rear ended, when you shift gears (
in
or out of a gear.. but especially when down shifting) there is a pretty
nasty
"clunking" noise. You can feel it no matter what seat you're in, but it

sounds like it's coming from the front pass. floor board. My dad thinks
that
getting rear ended cause the drive shaft to be shoved into the trans.
If you guys have any ideas, please let me know what I can do, I would
like to
hold on to this car for a long time! It's fun to drive, but I don't
dare
drive it hard with this clunking every time I shift!
