Well like a fool I let my leaky windshield soak my carpet for years and have the oh so familiar rusted floorboards. Tried to fix the leak once, only to crack a perfectly good windshield and still not fix the leak oh, what fun!! Now that I have finally gotten the windshield fixed, I no longer have the drip, drip, drip, right on top of my fusebox.I have seen other 245 wagon's with this same pesky leak, dripping right on the fusebox,where is this coming from? I didn't get to take a look at the area when they had my windshield out, but the windshield guy told me that most of the older volvo's that he has seen has rust where the windshield sits, mine had none.
I have taken some sheet metal and pop riveted metal over the holes that even got up into the driveshaft tunnell and rotted off the drivers left rear seat mount. and I caulked around the edges of the sheet metal in an effort to keep water out from the outside getting where it shouldn't. I riveted metal from the top and bottom, since I wasn,t welding in new, hoping to get some strength back, but it will never be factory again. what a ballbuster of a job in 95 degree heat. If your fuses have corrosion, you probably have the same stupid leak.From my experience, it seems to be mostly the wagons that have this leak-rusted floorboard thing. I know that other members have found leaks elsewhere in the firewall etc. Any thoughts?
