JERUSALEM
by Parry and Blake
And did those feet in ancient times
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
In England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the countenence Divine
Once shine upon our shaded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark, Satanic mills?
Bring me my sword of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my shield, O, clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I shall not cease from mental flight
Nor shall my sword rest in my hand
Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.
