Hello, I am new to this forum and to Volvo's. I have recently purchased an 86 240 168k miles that I knew had some charging issues. It was a sweet deal though, $975. When I got it home I found out about some of Volvo's Quirks. I have been lucky though my harness was not totally destroyed yet. Any help on gettint a good used one would help though. Also my O.D> solenoid was just un hooked whew. This car has had a recent engine replacement and it runs strong but I am worried a little about the emissions test I have to take here in Dallas. It is pretty stringent. Is there any thing I can do to get my emissions down the first time. It does not smoke the exhaust does not have a rich odor to it. The plugs look fine. The only thing I see is the vapor canistor hose from under the left front fender is unhooked. Does that make a difference?
