I've been having such trouble with cold starts...someone suggested checking the IAC, which I will; also the check valve (don't got none; Rex/Regina one-pump system); replacing fuel filter (in process; still swearing at the stuck banjo bolts); clearing vac line to FPR (done); replacing RPM sensor and coolant temp sensor (or testing); and testing the cold start injector. (Plus assorted cleaning/checking connex to FI grounds, injectors, etc.) Also replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor, flame trap.
Ok...still goin' at this...at least I am out of my wife's hair.
Where is the Cold Start Injector (is this just extra duty assigned to one of the regular injectors?)
This could be the trouble. If I turn the ignition key to ON but don't crank the engine...a few times...this runs the pump enough to overcome whatever fuel delivery problem I have and she starts. But would like to figure out the trouble.
After a little initial hesitation (and attempted stall), idle recovers, and she runs like a clock and restarts very easily thereafter.
Tips appreciated. Thanks!
