I have isolated my cold start problem to the fuel check valve, I think.
I turn the ignition slightly on then off to let the fuel system pressurize, and then when I start the car it starts perfectly. If I do not do this quick on/off
first, I have 3-5 secs of rough idle till it settles down. Also, if I start the car within 2-4 hours if starts fine. In other forums I found this hint on the fuel check value. My question is where is this thing. I have the shop manuals and there is no reference to the fuel pump check valve. Some posts say it is part of the fuel pump, if so can it just be replaced.
I have cleaned throttle body, flame trap, and air control value and the idle is very smooth after it gets over the initial start problem.
Thanks,Tom
