Is there life after 240s? 200

It's now nine years since the last 240s were made. There are thousands that will be good for years as daily drivers--but not forever. Even 240s are ultimately going to become either an entertainment ride like a '65 Mustang, or get worn out, used up, and (horrors!) melted down to make Cavaliers.

When my 92 gets to this point, then what?. Do I get an 850/V70? I've driven one--it was fast but FWD clumsy, with minimal headroom and the "layer of engine" look under the hood (no DIY). Ford ownership may ultimately be the death of Volvo; the owner of the shop I use says 1998 is the last OK year, and stay away from the 80 series completely.

Is anyone on the lookout for vehicles from other manufacturers that might be tolerable replacements for a 240? Or, in the future, will everything be a Taurus?
