244DL fan/demister issues 200 1982

G'day there,
i've been looking to buy a volvo. i inspected a few today. the better one has issues with the demister. the fans do not work... i've heard this is a common problem for volvos? the owner has tried replacing a fuse but to no avail... can anyone help me on how long (approx) a job this is to fix?? what sort of bucks will i be looking at? i'm in australia
