Info needed on a 1983 244 DL 200

I'm looking towards getting my girlfriend a '83 244 DL. The car needs a new wiring harness and that it. So i have a few questions:

How reliable are the 244dl's and are there any other problems i should look into?
How hard is it to replace the wire harness?
