760 won't start when electric fan runs

posted by  someone claiming to be td on  Tue Aug 13 17:21 CST 2002 [RELATED]

turn key and dash lights up and fan in front of radiator comes on(what is it?).Turn key to start and "click".30 seconds later the fan shuts off.Engine then starts fine.Any ideas?
