Hello folks,
Being totally dissatisfied with my current 1991 Volvo940GLE, yesterday I stopped by a secondhand car dealer's shop. Saw this 1995 Volvo940 GL and took it for a test drive. I was told that this car is a soft turbo version i.e its written turbo on the Air box but the instrument cluster does not have turbo meter reading like those in full turbo cars.
Immediately I noticed that the steering was feather light. Woow!!. It was such a joy to drive this baby compared with my 1991 bullcart. Anyway to add to my dissatisfaction and contempt towards my car, the braking system in this newer car was also feather light. (my car and this test drive car both had ABS). I applied a gentle touch on the brake pedal and the car almost immediately by its own slowed down from 100KM/h to about 70KM/h.
After the test drive, I tried the same on my car but nothing happened. I had to apply greater force on the brake pedal to get the car to slow down otherwise it does not want slow down.
So guys, can someone explain this differences? Both cars equipped with ABS brake and one was gentler then the other?
regards,
