Perhaps I'm just too cheap to pay $2.50 for distilled water when I change coolant. (Remember, "Evian" spelled backwards is "naive".) All the comments I've read here make sense - distilled water eliminates suspended minerals, etc., less damaging to cooling systems. So, I think using the water from my basement dehumidifier would work - H. S. chem experiments with water cooled condensers changing steam into liquid water seems to be the same process, and, there are never any deposits in the catch bucket. But I'd like some feedback. Is this a good idea? I passed Chem, but I'm not sure I'm not missing something. Thanks.
