climate control selector slider kind of broken 700 1990

the top one, the one that allows me to pick between Max A/C, Normal A/C, vent, defrost, etc. that one is kind of broken.

i popped off the unit and pulled it out a bit to take a quick look. it seems that the little wheel that it's attached to has come off sort of. i tried pushing it back on but it doesn't click or stay or anything.

does anyone have any experience with this problem? it looks kind of difficult to remove all these wires and plugs and what not, and even if i get it out, i don't know if i can repair the plastic piece.

also, is there a place that sells the whole unit for cheap? my temperature slider is also kind of broken so maybe i should just replace the whole unit.

i am on a very tight budget since my cat just went in for surgery. *crosses fingers and knocks on wood*
