HVAC Controls on '89 740 GLE 700

First of all, this is the thrid time I have tried to post this message! It's about as bad as working on a Volvo! Ha Ha

The slider that selects the mode is jambed up. I've heard some talk about upgrading to later model rotory controls. If anyone has any experence on this subject and or leads on finding good used controls, rotory or slider, please help.
