Drilling Holes in B20F Air box? 200 1975

Does anyone have any experience with drilling holes in the stock air box on a B20F in order to let the system breathe better? Some of my audiphile friends have done this on their cars, but they claim that each engine has a different optimal pattern/number/diameter of holes that should be drilled. Any comments or recommendations? BTW, my B20F exists in a 1975 244 DL, but I figured this forum would be the best place to get responses to this specific engine.

Thanks,
Sven-Erik
