Timing Belt Installation - I'm stuck! 200

Just refitted a rebuilt head to my son's 1981 B21F. Made the big mistake during disassembly of not turning the crank until the camshaft sprocket indexing mark lined up with the cam cover notch. Now I have to time the various shafts from scratch before refitting the timing belt, but I can't see clearly the indexing mark behind the crank pulley. There seems to be a small gap between projections on the engine front cover which gives you a peek at what appears to be an indexing mark, but it is not exactly at 12 o'clock (vertically above the crank centerline) as shown in the manuals, but is more like 11:30. Anyone know if this is the correct crank indexing mark? - or if not, how to see it? Appreciate your quick answers - I was hoping to finish this off today....
