Polishing chrome trim 700

I have an 87 760 Ti wagon. The chrome trim is old, and well...tired. It's not rusted or pitted as it has been in a salt free environment. But it needs to be re-born somehow. Can anyone offer advice on a technique to renew this brightwork? oooo steel wool, maybe?
