I hope someone can help me, because I have had my car at 3 different shops and no one seems able to diagnose or correct the intermittent problem I'm having with my 1992 Volvo 960 Wagon. There are 3 buttons on the gearshift panel, which are E (for Economy), S (for Sport), and W (for Winter). There is a light next to each of these buttons that indicates which of these 3 settings you are in (Economy, Sport or Winter). Periodically, all 3 of these lights flash at once and the car tries to shift between all 3 settings, causing the tachometer to fluctuate wildly as the car attempts to be in all 3 settings at once. The speedometer also quits working at the same time, and the car becomes EXTREMELY sluggish. The problem occurs very frequently, but in between the car runs great. Any suggestions? Please help -- this is costing me a fortune to try to correct.
