I had problems with fluctuation at idle and off idle hesitation. I fooled with the plug wires and one was loose so I tightened it. I replaced the plugs which I'm sure are over 40,000. Car runs better. While looking at the haynes manual I discovered that a check engine light on is not required to have a fault code stored. I checked the diagnotics and found 2-3-2 (fuel system compensating for rich or lean mixture at idle). Would this have anything to do with aftermarket cam or fouled plugs. I haven't checked the diagnotics since I had the cam installed. I know that the computer and ignition can learn and adjust to new parameters. I think that this is why the car did not idle well with the new plugs installed but did just fine after a short drive, stop, and drive. I'll sleep on this and if anyone knows what I should be looking to adjust or check with multi-tester please let me know. Hopefully it is just the plugs being old. I forgot to mention that there were no fault codes with the ignition system. I think I'll cancel the codes stored now and drive it to see if the same code gets stored.
