960 WATER PUMP LINE 900 1993

I just bought a 960 and put a new head gasket on. my problem is how do you get the hard metal line that comes off the back of the water pump and goes to the side of the head???? I need to change that little gasket for the cooling system and cnt get the metal pipe to move. How do you get access to this short of takeing the head off again?????? Thanks for any help!
