Turbocharge a non turbo engine? 700

I've got a vastly underpowered, but otherwise in great shape, 140K mile 86 745 GLE. Just found a 88 745T for cheap with a bad engine (water in oil) that hasn't ran in 6 months. Can I swap all the turbo equipment over from the turbo car to my non-turbo 86 engine and make it work? Since the 88 car is complete I can swap everything if need be. I'm hoping that I can swap the engine wiring harness at the main connector without swapping the complete harness to the ECU. Possible? Friend and I going halves on the car since he needs an interior and wheels and I don't. Sure would like the extra HP but don't want to get in over my head.
