960 (1995) stalls without warning 900 1995

Our 1995, 960 volvo stalls for no apparent reason without any warning. It usually stalls when we come to a complete stop, like at a light or stop sign.
Our local volvo mechanics can't identify the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
