Oil Pressure Sender Thread Pattern 700 1986

I am installing an oil pressure gauge in my 1986 740 with the B230FT engine. This means a new sender. The two most common thread patterns seem to be 1/8-27 NPT and 1/4-18 NPT. Which one do I use? If neither of these is right, what is the correct pattern?
