How do you replace the heater control panel back lights 700 1991

The back light on the left side of the heater control panel behind the blower switch in the top of the center console of my car has died. The right side still lights up. Has anyone had the pleasure of fixing this? I did not find anything in the FAQ, or my UK Haynes manual on this. This is not an end of the world problem, but it bugs me, and if it is not really really hard I would like to try to fix it. I had the trim off on the front, and it appears that there are metal tabs from the top of the radio box holding the heater controls box in place. Does this mean I need to start at the bottom of the console and work upward, removing everthing until I can get the heater controls out? What kind of bulb is in this thing? Is it the same as the instrument switch bulbs I just replaced? If I am going to do this, I would like to have a new bulb or both perhaps ready to go in!

Anyone ever replace a bulb in the seatbelt buckle beside the seat, or is this too particular! The passenger one still works on my car, the drivers does not, if it ever did!

Thanks for any and all help and comments.
