Replacing plug-in temp switch with screw-in type (in radiator) 700 1989

Bricksters:
I have a non-working auxiliary electric fan in front of the radiator. Think the problem is the temp switch that plugs into the top of the radiator. Suppliers list screw in type switches. Is there a conversion? Or can I stay with the plug in type?

It could also be the aux fan relay. Where is the electric fan relay located?

It could also be the fan itself, but I'll cross this rio later.
Thanks for the info.
