Cost of pinion seal replacement? 700 1989

The pinion seal on my '89 745GL (134,000mi) has started leaking. Not too much, just a steady ooze. Unfortunately I am currently unemployed and would like to keep my expenses at a minimum. 2 questions - how much does this usually cost to get fixed (I don't have the tools or know-how to do it myself)? And how long can I drive it around like this if I top off the rear axle fluid every week or so? Thanks all--
