overdrive pistons: how to tell if upgraded? 700 1988

In preparation for rebuilding my overdrive, I separated the unit from the transmission today and pulled a piston out. I know I have seen verbiage about the new upgraded pistons and what the differences are, but for the life of me I can't find it.

The link below will show a picture of the piston, how can I tell if it is the newer style?

wrt separating the OD unit. I pulled my transmission out and did the separation on a table. My hat is off to anyone who does this while the transmission is still in the car. I know my patience level and I think I would have run out way before the unit was out.

It is quite easy to separate the unit with a 20 pound sledge hammer, two 6 foot crow bars, and a chain saw. Piece of cake!
