gas gauge not working 900 1993

I just test drove this car which is selling for $4700. Car looks clean and in good shape, milage is 140K it is a wagon with 4rd seat. Needs front rotors and pads and also the gas gauge doesn't work. I priced this repair and it is a fuel sender circuit with installation is priced between $500 to $600. Is this car worth it to buy or does this indicate electrical troubles down the road?
