Constant Idle Motor - can I put one from an '87 on a '90 200

The CIS "motor" on my '90 240 is sticking, causing the engine to rev to 2000 rpm at start-up. I've sprayed P-blaster into the intake side of the beast, which has improved it so over-reving only happens after the car sits overnight. I have a good motor off an '87 240 (different part # than '90, but electrical connection looks the same). Are they interchangeable?
