Pulling it out actually. '87 760 Ti, hot re-start problem. Have checked the FPR, no fuel in the vac line, sends back to the tank just fine. Checked the ECT, ohm values are real close to spec. Cleaned IAC motor and repaired wiring. Fixin' to (southern term; translation: getting ready to) change the in-tank pump, no change in running when fuse is pulled and no buzz coming from the tank, hooked a test lamp (outside the tank) to the connector and got power so I'm guessing it is the pump. Weird thing happened when I checked the ECT values. I noticed the RSR connector was disintergrating. Repaired this, buttoned the connector back up for the commputer. Started car, it ran very nicely. Let it warm up, re-started several times when warm. Drove the car one-hundred miles, again re-started just fine several times after. Ran and started like a new car. Next day it was like I hadn't done a bloody thing. Heats up and won't start until you crank and crank for several seconds then runs crappy and stalls, blows black smoke then smooths out and does great. Other symptoms I have noticed are high idle when in drive, boost guage seems to be a little high when stopped with car in gear and my climate control has stopped working correctly (will run on high with panel vents blowing nice cold air then suddenly slows and shuts vents off and I'll be darned if I can figure out where the cold air is going). The climate problem just started though since I pulled the trim panels to test the computer so I may have knocked something loose. Bottom line is car is great for getting from point "A" to point "B", but if you are going to point "C", you're on you own.
Any ideas I am at wits end.
And sorry for the length of this missive.
