I have a 1990 760 turo wagon that was smoking at idle and very badly during heavy acceleration under turbo boost. I disconnected the wastegate linkage rod from it's post and have been running the car this way for a week. The smoking has disappeared (except very slight occasionaly at idle). Does this action and results indicate any problem to anyone. I am assuming turbo? Any one have any list of thing to check for troubleshooting the problem. TIA
