Faill jiggle test, but new flametrap/breatherbox etc....possibly temperature dependant

Reposted from within another thread..seemed sensible

I did my flame trap (well whatever as on the 940 turbo there is no trap in it...) and replaced the breather box today...real easy, but you do need at least 18" of extension on the socket and a knuckle.. I also cleaned all the pipes and replaced the seal on the oil filler...it really looked worse than it was and the worst bit IMHO was refitting the s tube to the top of the flame trap!

Anyway, I have 21" of vacume on the small manafold tube and everything cleaned etc and I still fail the 'jiggle' test! and i seem to still have some oil seepage round the filler. Now to make this more interesting i do have a good seal at say 1000-1500 rpm (estimated) but not at idle. I have a plastic filler cap, I have taken the car out at night, got someone with lights on behind me and FLOORED it and no smoke outa the exhaust, and I THINK (but this is on a very limited test) that if the car is cold (dead cold) I pass the jiggle test, but if it is warm I dont! oh, and th dip stick is good, no lift, no blow no nothing!

Anyone got any ideas, is this normal, does the seal need to bed in on the cap...etc etc..

should i worry about this (apart from a fine film of oil accross the top of the engine?)

oh, and i run the car on mobile 1 0w40...synthetic..
