Hello everyone - hope your summer included a lot of Volvo touring, like mine did!
Last weekend I did some brake updating: I put new calipers, pads, and a pin kit on each of my fronts, as well as new hoses and a new master cylinder. I also put in a new brake line in the back (the one that follows along the top of the rear axle).
After I finished all of that, I took the Yellow Hornet down to a local European car shop to get them to bleed the brakes for me - I supplied the brake fluid (nice pale pink DOT 5 silicone brake fluid), and they did. The car now stops on a dime, and it feels great!
Here is the reason I am writing, though: after they were all done, the parking brake idiot light was turned on and it won't turn off. I pressed the little button underneath the handbrake lever, but that didn't help. I am thinking that it might have something to do with the electrical warning switch that they would have had to take out and put back in from the master cylinder - if this is indeed the cause, what is the solution?
One side-effect of this is that my long-dormant driver's side parking light (the one right beside the headlight) now turns on - that was obviously an electrical short somewhere.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
