I've been doing 60,000 mile maintenance on a '94 960 and am up to the point where it's time to clean out the EGR valve/pipe. I know what it looks like and where it should be (from pictures in the service manuals), but there seems to be nothing there.
I found a diagram in one of the Volvo service manuals that shows the EGR vacuum control unit for this year car up near the Air Flow sensor and relays. Figured I could trace the vacuum line back to the EGR unit itself, but alas, no EGR vacuum control unit either (at least none where the diagram says it should be).
Am I looking in the wrong place or do some cars just not have them?? The car was originally owned by a Volvo headquarters person (Rockleigh, NJ) who sold it when he was transferred back to Sweden.
Thanks,
Linda
