In-Tank Fuel Pump Question 200

Hi Bricksters,

I was attempting to change my in-tankl pump the other day when I ran into a serious problem, I can't get the tank open. There is a serious collection of rust going on there, and after nearly a can of liquid wrench, it still wouldn't budge. ALso the hoses and connections seem so eaten away by rust and time, that I was afraid to take them of in fear of them breaking. I tried using two screwdrivers, a tried a drift and one screwdriver, but the damn thing wount move a centimeter. Does anyone have any ideas. I don't think its totally vital that it is changed ASAP, but my baby is at 210,000, and I figured it might help her out. I did the main pump about ten thousand miles ago. She does seem to ride a bit more smoothly when the gas tank is full. Thanks for any and all help.
Peace,
Mikey B
